YELLOWSTONE

Arrive in Billings and check into the hotel. Billings is where the Montana territory begins and your historic and cultural "passport" for the legendary West. Overnight stay.

Take Hqy 14, the Bighorn Scenic Byway, and you will find yourself in a beautiful landscape across the Bighorn National Forest and the Bighorn mountains. Cross the 8.950m of the Granite Pass between the Canyon and the Shell Cascades. Your ride will take you across Greybull, which takes name from a local Indian legend about a great albino buffalo that used to roam around these parts. Alternatively, you can take Hwy 14, the Passage Medicine Wheel, and pass from the Medicine Mountain near the enigmatic Medicine Wheel. The Hwy 14 (14A) will lead you to Cody, a conscious frontier town and livestock center. Take your time to visit Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Overnight stay.

West Yellowstone is the western gate to Yellowstone National Park and you will have the entire day to enjoy one of the true wonders of the natural world. One of Mother Nature's greatest successes, the park is simply amazing, full of geysers, magnificent canyons, mightily cascades and wildlife. The oldest national park in the country (and in the world, too) , founded in 1872, Yellowstone was explored by the pioneer John Colter, who crossed it in 1808. Do not miss the Old Faithful Geyser, in the southwestern part of the park. The Old Faithful is known for its punctual eruptions, during which 5,000 liters of boiling water are shot 45m up in the air, creating a huge column of vapor. The second most important attraction is the Grand Canyon formed by the Yellowstone River, with a pair of enormous cascades that empty their water into the canyon that is 20 miles long, half a mile wide and 1,000m deep, eroding the yellow rock. Take some time and stop at one of the visitors' centers, speak to the rangers and discover other wonders that await in the park. Overnight stay.

The first stop for today is Livingston, a city abandoned in 1940, and then your journey will take you north on Hwy 89 all the way to White Sulphur Springs, immersed in a valley between the Little Belt Mountains and the Clark National Forest. Ride along the Castle Mountains and you will be on the right track for Harlowtown. Continue east and enjoy the incredible scenery of the Golden Valley. In Roundup, a place known for geographic traits that made it ideal for cattle farming, take Hwy 87 and go back to Billings. When you get there, drop your bike off and check into the hotel.
