CANADA TO YELLOWSTONE

Saying goodbye to the Emerald City, we are starting our ride on some of the most beautiful hidden roads in the State of Washington. Highway 9 is a true gem of the Northwest, passing across the carnation and tulip fields and leading us up north to the Mountain Baker and the famous national parks of the North Cascades. Next, we're leaving Highway 9 and heading east towards a unique and literally breath-taking scenery just south of the Canadian Rockies. We stop in Winthrop, Washington and take a break on the riverbanks, enjoying a cold drink or a glass of wine, thinking about the fantastic day we've just spent together.

Alberta, Canada, the point of access to the Canadian Rockies, is a paradise for nature lovers from all over the world. This destination, fascinating throughout the year, offers some of the best trails for hiking, mountain biking, skiing and rafting in the entire North America. Our trip today takes us to the heart of the Jasper National Park and the lovely town of Jasper, in Alberta. This city occupies a special place in our hearts, as it is the starting point of marvelous Route 93, also known as Icefield Highway, from Jasper all the way to the extraordinary city on Lake Louise, also in Alberta.

Our trip seems to be taking our group to more and more incredible destinations, and this is definitely the case today. The Waterton Lakes National Park is part of the Glacier National Park, one of the most amazing places in North America. In Waterton, we will have fun in the afternoon and the evening along the clear waters of this beautiful lake that will make you feel like you've always belonged here. Dive right into this reality, because this is the real life!

As we leave the stateside Glacier National Park, we turn our bikes southeast and explore why Montana is knowns as the Big Sky State! We will stick to the two-lane roads, passing by lakeshores and through the cattle country that defines this area. A stop for lunch in the small, pioneering town of Ovando will give you a chance to feel the extensive Montana history of this area. For thousands of years Native American tribes have made this area home, and later explorations by Merriweather Lewis and mining discoveries created this town. Our day ends at the resort of Fairmont Hot Springs where we can soak in the hot water and celebrate our day.

Today, get ready to experience what many members of the EagleRider family consider to be one of the most mysterious and fascinating bike rides in North America - Chief Joseph and Beartooth Pass. Words cannot describe what we're about to experience today. First, we take a fast and easy road, making frequent stops to take photos of the amazing scenery and to see some bears, deer, moose and antelopes. At the end of the day, we will look at each other, smiling, asking ourselves whether this day was perhaps just a dream. We're spending the night in Cody, Wyoming, in a typical western city that used to be home of Buffalo Bill. After dinner, we will walk around the city watching cowboys trying to stay in the saddle of their mustangs and bulls in Cody Rodeo.

We are running out of adjectives to describe this incredible region of the world and today is no different. Today will be spent winding our way through parts of Yellowstone National Park, stopping to experience the majesty of Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs, Hayden Valley and all of its extraordinary wildlife. Tonight we will stay on the edge of the park in West Yellowstone so we’ll be primed for more Park exploration in the morning!

We will start our ride today by descending through the twisty Snake River Gorge as we leave the Grand Teton National Park and spend the morning exploring the gentle landscapes of Idaho and Utah as we travel though areas with names such as “Tin Cup Pass” and “Soda Springs.” Lunch is along the shore of the impossibly-turquoise Bear Lake before we take a ride across the Wasatch Mountains through Logan River Canyon. Our evening will be spent exploring the bars and restaurants of Historic 25th Street. With nicknames like Notorious Two Bit Street and Electric Alley, this street was once home to brothels, political scandals, and the “dark ages” of gang rivalries so intense you couldn’t walk the three-block length in safety. Today, 25th Street is a mecca for travelers, art collectors, foodies, and adventurers.
