Short list of things to do in Los Angelesback
Is there anyone here who thinks Hollywood is all there is to see in Los Angeles?
Ok, you are definitively wrong! And we are going to tell you why.
Los Angeles has many things to see, as many as the kilometres of its wide area. There is not a real city centre but about 88 districts to visit. Hollywood is worth visiting and we are not saying you shouldn’t but planning a tour in LA with Xplore will make you enjoy all of the attractions that this unrivalled city offers to visitors and locals.
Here a list of what to do in Los Angeles.
Let’s start from the LA downtown.
Take a look of this big city from above, from the OUE Skyspace L.A.: open since 2016 this is an open-air observation desk, the first outdoor glass slice of this kind in L.A., on the top of U.S. Bank Tower. There is a breath-taking view at 1.000 feet.
Don’t miss one of the most envied museums in the world. The Getty Museum whose founder was the art collector, philanthropist and owner of the most profitable U.S oil company Jean Paul Getty, has today two main galleries: the Getty Villa, Getty’s Malibu own property, with more than 44.000 ancient artworks and the Getty Centre in Los Angeles designed by the architect, Richard Meier. The Museum displays works from Europe, Asia and America, from ancient times to the XX century. There is no contemporary artwork inside, but you will see the famous “Irises” of Van Gogh and beautiful paintings of the Impressionists.
And what about music in L.A.? (Here) there is a special concert hall named after Walt Disney that is the home of L.A. Philarmony. It is an extraordinary architecture masterpiece by Frank Gehry and its acoustic is very appreciated from concertgoers and lovers because it is not too far from perfect. Enjoy the show at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Not only art but also fun among the things to do in LA: take your ride on the Ferries Wheel in Santa Monica admiring some of the most beautiful Californian beaches.
You deserve to spend your time walking down Rodeo Drive, the iconic road where Julia Roberts went on shopping in the timeless Pretty Woman. That theme song is already playing in your mind, isn’t it?
If you want, you can do every single thing of this list and more booking one of our Xplore self-drive tours to the best part of California.
